Cornell Swanier 1SG (retired) US ARMY

A native of Pass Christian, Mississippi, he enlisted into the United States Army January 1982 and honorably served his country for over 22 years. As a Soldier and Leader, he loved mentoring, teaching, and developing soldiers.

He also served and volunteered his time to the military and surrounding community as a soldier. His passion was not only serving soldiers, but their families as well. He received the Army Volunteerism Medal for coaching and mentoring military children while serving overseas in Wurzburg, Germany.

While serving on Fort Benning, Georgia, he was selected to serve as the Installation Prevention Education Coordinator for the Army Substance Abuse Program. In 2002, he was the Army recipient of the GEICO Military Service Award for his outstanding work in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Education. He was also awarded the Commanding Generals Volunteer Service Award for his volunteer service to military children in Alcohol and Drug abuse prevention education.

After his military service he wanted to continue with his passion of supporting Ketia in her endeavors for advocating and mentoring our military children. He has been doing so since she founded Ketia4Kidz Foundation in 2008.

He loves spending time with family and inspired by giving back to others as well as striving to help military brats succeed. He is emotionally connected after living and understanding what Ketia went through as a military brat with two parents serving and deploying numerous times.
